Will Secondary schools be online learning?

Or is it an extended holiday until 18th?

We were told by DD's school (on the last day) that lessons from 4th-8th will go online. Definitely not an extended holiday. We haven't been told about the 11th onwards but I suspect that too will go online. DD is Y9 and the head is absolutely furious about the closure.

I suspect, as before it will vary from school to school

@Cactusowl on the link it does state the following, '"Please note that vocational exams scheduled for the first weeks of January will go ahead as planned."

My DD was not expecting any formal teaching before her exam due to being on exam leave. It does feel a mess.

My DD wax due to be on exam leave the first two weeks of term, just in for mock A Level exams and an actual BTec exam.

She is in year 13. Would be helpful to have some clarity about the actual BTec exams. Feel so sorry for all students in exam years, the uncertainty is very unsettling for them.

Btec exams go ahead as planned, in person. No confusion.

The school I teach in has already emailed staff to say that we'll be teaching all year groups online next week, which is what I expected. Waiting to hear from DS's school but I'd be surprised if it wasn't the same for them as they taught online lessons throughout lockdown so will be ready to shift back online at a moment's notice.

Same here. Remote learning for the first two weeks of term.

We pretty much planned for this before the holidays. Lessons ready on Google Classroom, and all students told to take their books home.

I’m a secondary teacher. Have heard from my head and we are live teaching to timetable to all years from Tuesday (Monday is inset).

DH a secondary teacher had too and same at his school.
