Children with EHCPs

Does anyone know what the plan this time round is re school closures? In the first ave, most children with ehcp could not attend school. One of my DC has very complex needs and I work and just cried. I won't be coping with having her at home again. I work from home and she cannot do schoolwork independently at all. not to mention again the loss of all therapy etc. I just cannot do this again. so don't know what to do Sad

Sorry OP, it's a ridiculously challenging situation. I don't have an answer but didn't want to leave you unheard.

I work in a special school and understand that vulnerable children and those with EHCPs can still attend, if not shielding. I know this was supposed to be the case in lockdown 1, but the reality was different for many.

I hope your child can still attend school OP.

I dontl know ,they say vulnerable children with EHCP,s can attend school ,but they appeared to forget special school,s in the last lockdown at least in my LEA .

I’m waiting to hear about my dcs special school. They were due back on 4th but they closed early due to lack of staff before Christmas so it depends what the situation is. Dcs class only has 6 pupils but they need 8 members of staff, if teaching staff are off then they can’t reopen safely.
