Difference between Vaccines?

What are the differences between the Pfizer and Oxford Vaccine?
I read something that said the one is a viral vector and the other RNA but I have no idea what that means.
Are both suitable for vegans?
I know one is slightly more effective than the other, but will we get a choice?
(As someone who is healthy I’d probably rather take the less effective leaving the more effective for more vulnerable people)

The vegan society has written something here.

We won’t have a choice in which vaccine to have, only whether to accept one or not. I’m vegan and I will be having the vaccine because as well as protecting me, it will help others.
