Cases are high and rising, millions are in tier 4 and it isn’t really making a difference. People are fed up and haven’t seen family in months, in some areas like Leicester not since March. There’s the vaccine but it won’t have an impact for a couple of months at least. Scientists are saying more needs to be done to get the new strain of virus under control. I’m not actually sure what else can be done? They can keep us in lockdown indefinitely, no one will comply. So what else is there?

I don’t want this to turn into another lockdown vs no lockdown thread, I really want to know what the alternatives are as we can’t be kept in lockdown.

Tighten up on ‘essential’ retail..... we don’t need home bargains and the range open if people aren’t buying essentials.

Close the schools and nurseries.

That’s all that’s left
