So what do we think? Are they going to shut?

Unfortunately no I don't think they will delay the opening of schools because as much as they want us 'to stay at home to protect the NHS' they have the same mentality that school must stay open at any costs.

And then in February the Government will blame the schools for not doing enough to save the NHS.

No they won't thank god!!!

It does feel like teachers are scapegoats in all this

We have had 4 more staff test positive over the holiday so we are now missing our last actual maths teacher for a while; she really isn't well at the moment. I hope our 2 supply maths teachers come back at this point as they were the only supply who kept actually coming. According to the dedicated holiday email we've had 9 students test positive too.

Looking at the social media of my 2 DDs (17 & 15) I can see just how many aren't sticking to the not mixing (not meaning the christmas day relaxation, although a photo with 19 people around 2 large tables is surely pushing it?) and I know many of our school's families (and the school of my DP) will be the same.

I'd really like to know what is happening next week; I'm worried about my head, about my own department and most importantly the students that have exams next week. We have a huge vocational cohort in BTECs and CTECs and we have over 100 doing exams from the 6th Jan.

I really hope they do. We are in Tier 3, cases still high, will be worse in a few weeks due to Xmas mixing. Both me and OH are CV.

I'm in tier 4 so couldn't see my mum over Christmas but can go back on Monday with 90 children and staff. No social distancing, no masks.
