I've just received notification to self isolate for 4 days and I'm trying to find the bit on the app where I can view my data.
Can someone please tell me where it is?

Click on about this app and then scroll down to manage my data :)

PeasNotBeans · 29/12/2020 08:36

I just got this alert too. I’m wondering where the hell i’m supposed to have got it as I haven’t been anywhere!

notangelinajolie · 29/12/2020 08:36

Grin @Mrswhirley
Thank you - I knew it was there somewhere.

My DH got one yesterday- exposure in app says 23rd. I’m now beyond worried as we spent Christmas with my elderly parents.

A while back I know the accuracy was questionable but I think they’ve tweaked the algorithm. We think his was in a shop too- but he wasn’t anywhere long enough? Who knows!

I hope everyone stays well x

PurpleDaisies · 29/12/2020 10:30

I’ve just checked mine and the encounter date was the 19th but it’s saying to self isolate until jan 1st. That’s wrong isn’t it? It should be ten days.

Whirlwind14 · 29/12/2020 10:41

@PurpleDaisies yes, should be until 30th...

PurpleDaisies · 29/12/2020 10:43

What a piece of crap app. At least I happened to check.

That's odd. My encounter was 22nd and isolate until 1st.

Here it is! I’ve checked and I’ve got the most up to date version of the app. Not sure what’s gone wrong with it but I’m very thankful for this thread.

My encounter must have been Tesco because I didn't go anywhere else. I most definitely did not stay near anyone for 15 mins. I don't even go down aisles if someone else is down there. DH reckons someone must have been following me round. Ha I will have to shop zig zag down random aisles next time - but according to him I do that anyway ConfusedHmm

Looking on the bright side - DH will have to do the shopping on his own next time Xmas Grin

Although a mate today got a 10 day isolation notification. She has no idea why. She hasn't been out in 4 weeks (child tested positive, then holidays hit and she got shopping delivered) so she contacted them.
They won't have it tha she hasn't been in contact with anyone. She said none of her family (DH and older DC's) have been told to isolate either. The call person said she "must" have been in contact with someone who tested positive in the last 24 hours but she said repeatedly it's not possible and they've threatened her to comply or else!
I suggested she delete and redownload the app as clearly they've fucked up somewhere.
The app is shoddy as shit.

gamerchick · 29/12/2020 17:15

The app is bollocks and not even valid for official reasons I turned contact tracing off its that shit.

PurpleDaisies · 29/12/2020 17:17

*The call person said she "must" have been in contact with someone who tested positive in the last 24 hours but she said repeatedly it's not possible and they've threatened her to comply or else!^

Test and trace and the app are completely different. There’s no call with the app, only an alert on the app itself.

MillieVanilla · 29/12/2020 17:19

She phoned someone, not sure who but they said if you've been told to isolate you isolate, full stop. She's now worried she will be reported to police as a result. I said doubtful but who knows anymore.

The app isn’t legally binding. She doesn’t need to worry about that.

DH checked with the guy who he went for lunch with and the restaurant- no one else has had notification. So it can only be Joules when he literally popped in for a couple of minutes to collect my Christmas present Confused or at a petrol station. So he wasn’t with anyone long enough to ping it?? Who knows....

MillieVanilla · 29/12/2020 19:48

I thought it only knew you were at a place if you scanned the QR code? Barely anywhere I go (which is pretty limited due to Tier crappy 4) had one to scan.

Those QR codes don’t lead to self isolation alerts. Your phone scans for other app using phones with Bluetooth and stores the details. If someone tests positive, their app alerts other users of the app who were in contact with it at less than 2m for more than 15minutes, and it should tell you to isolate for 10 days from when the last exposure with them occurred.
Whirlwind14 · 29/12/2020 21:08

That’s what I don’t understand really- DH rarely goes anywhere as he works from
Home and ventures out for site visits to small
Independent building sites. I do the shopping, the nursery pick ups etc. He rarely goes into town. We were in tier 1 until recently so might’ve gone to eat out now and then together, or on outdoor trips with the children but he seems to constantly have matched key counts in his exposure notifications- I think I’ve only ever had a total of 3 since the summer!
