Are lecturers key workers?

I have just got a job as a lecturer in a medical school. During the day I have a number of ( predominantly online) sessions with students and so would not be able to look after our baby ( just turned 1). My OH is a key worker who works outside the house so cant mind the baby.

My son is due to start nursery next week. But I'm worried about potential closure. Would I be considered a key worker? Or would the fact that my partner is a key worker enough for him to attend?

Last lockdown, if worked from home we did not get a keyworker place. My childminder refused for my youngest as one of us worked from home - however important that role was. Other people I know got a school place with one non-keyworker parent. It varied I discovered.

Ok thanks for your answer. I guess it's just a wait and see what the nursery say.

I’m a lecturer and we were not classed as key workers previously. One of my colleagues had four primary aged children at home, plus trying to teach remotely! Our management were fairly flexible as it was a crisis situation.

Where I live only one of you had to be a key worker if the other worked outside the home.
