Hello. I've now had covid for 2 weeks and have been experiencing breathlessness for 1 week. Today I called 111 as I'm getting concerned with how long it is lasting for. The doctor called me back and has prescribed an inhaler and antibiotics?! And has said to keep an eye on my temperature. Is this normal advice? Im confused with the antibiotics, would these help?

Yes this is same as my colleague, she had breathlessness for several months and has an inhaler now. Ask for help again if it gets worse. Good luck with your recovery x

Thank you. Did she also have antibiotics? X

My sister had this she was on an inhaler for a few months and the doctor gave her doxycillian (not sure on spelling sorry!)

I was given them, doctor said it was because he’d seen cases of it turning to pneumonia, so precautionary.

That's pretty standard. Antibiotics will help with a secondary chest infection if you have one. Inhaler will help with inflammation. They may help, they may not. Depending on what is actually happening in there.

Ok thank you. Sounds like it's precautionary then. Just hope the inhaler works and I start to improve soon, fed up now!
