Close contacts before 48hrs?

Hello

Do test and trace contact any close contacts that happen in the time before the 48hrs prior to symptoms?

DD showed symptoms yesterday (Sunday) and we saw some friends outdoors on Monday.

Would they be asked to isolate as it was 6days before symptoms?

From my understanding, no. They do take the details of contact i think for up to a week before symptoms but when test abs trace called me it seemed it was only as a way to collect data on where it might have been caught. They do ask if you were within 2 meters, was it busy, were people following the rules etc even for those contacts before the 48 hours but I'm pretty sure she said they wouldn't be calling them. In my case it wasn't individuals i know so i couldn't have followed up with them and asked if they'd been called.
