Are routine hospital appointments still going ahead in tier 3 and tier 4 areas?

Yes unless it snows I will be going to Moorfields 5th of January.

Fiddlersgreen · 27/12/2020 22:49

Yes they are

Kat101 · 27/12/2020 22:50

Elective surgery in Oxfordshire is totally cancelled (big teaching hospital trust)

QueenPawPaws · 27/12/2020 22:50

Seems to vary. I'm tier 3 and it appears if they can do it by phone, they do
Haematology routine appointment - over the phone
One where I needed injections went ahead
Ultrasound scan went ahead

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 27/12/2020 22:50

I'm in tier 3 and have just received a date for non-urgent surgery in Jan. Whether it gets cancelled remains to be seen.

Motorina · 27/12/2020 22:51

My local hospital (East Anglia) has cancelled routine surgery.

Crunchymum · 27/12/2020 22:55

Depends what for?

All my rheumatology appointments in 2020 were telephone (I do attend hospital for blood tests every 10 weeks and was advised I can be seen in person if I have a flare up)

My DC3 has a rare genetic condition and she hasn't been seen by her consultant in person for a year. Telephone appointments every 3 months. Same with her dietitian, PT, SLT and community paediatrics - no visits in person since Feb 2020 for any of these teams. Only people we have see in person is her private physio team.

Rubyrubyrubyred · 27/12/2020 22:56

Its a peadiatric outpatient appointment meant to happen early Jan. It was meant to happen Jan last year, consultant had a bereavement so rescheduled to April.. Will be absolutely devastated if its cancelled. They won't do this particular appointment over the phone.
