Can anyone tell me if the U.K. has had another delivery (after the initial 800,000 doses) of the Pfizer vaccine please?

Yes, several.
They haven’t made a song and dance about it for security reasons.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a source that you can link for this please?

It’s been mentioned on here by several people who credibly claim to be involved.
More importantly it meshes with the obvious point that they are still vaccinating people and if they hadn’t had any more deliveries they would have run out several days before Christmas! There have been a number of reports in the press that vaccinating hubs are getting supplies faster which again shows it has to be true but I don’t have time to find them again, sorry, I have read so many news items online and I don’t tend to bookmark them! Smile

I can’t link to a source either, but it is definitely true. The plan was to reserve half the available vaccine to ensure that everyone who has had a first dose can definitely receive their second. People will be starting to have their second dose from Tuesday, and well over half a million people have already been vaccinated, so there must be well over a million doses in the country (or in people’s arms!).

@WiseUpJanetWeiss that’s what I was trying to clarify

The Oxford vaccine is about to be rolled out.

Dinosaurcatcher · 27/12/2020 19:45

@Sertchgi123 apparently so. It’s the Pfizer one I’m interested in and if there has been another delivery

I did fear we would end up with 800k, then nothing and then the government would claim supply problems but all these lovely people on MN quite rightly say there must be more deliveries otherwise the numbers vaccinated don’t add up and of course the Oxford vaccine is around the corner.

Come on Oxford - we are very proud of you. Please don’t let there be an issue with it.

Bathroom12345 · 27/12/2020 21:51

Isn’t it terrible that the reason they don’t give a running commentary on deliveries is because of terrorist activities. Scum bags!

Gosh I wish I could prove it to you to reassure you Sad. There definitely are several more batches of the Pfizer vaccine in circulation than the first one. However I don’t think you’ll get to choose which vaccine you get unless there’s a clinical indication.

Dinosaurcatcher · 28/12/2020 10:22

@WiseUpJanetWeiss I am way down the list for a vaccine (under 40, no health concerns etc). It was more the availability of second doses for those that have had the first that was worrying me
