When should she isolate until?

DC2 got a message to SI from her school due to exposure on 16/17th December

What date should SI finish?

(The school said up to and including 30th December so they've done the 14 days?)

10 days starting the day after exposure

MadeForThis · 26/12/2020 10:33

27th would be last day of isolating.

Unless they develop symptoms, then another 10 days from symptoms date.

We have 2 positive in the house this week and that was the advice.

Crunchymum · 26/12/2020 10:36

So why have the school misinformed us? Of course the message came after they had broken up and no-one has responded to my email yet (fair enough... I know everyone deserves a break) but we've all had enough of being stuck indoors now.

I assume I'll be OK to take her to the park on 28th?

It's 10 days now, not 14.

It's worrying that the school don't know this, it changed a few weeks ago!

TheHalloweenFairy · 26/12/2020 10:39

We are the same. Exposure same day and been told to isolate til 28th

Crunchymum · 26/12/2020 10:52

It's random as 30th is only 13 days since 17th (and they said exposure was 16th or 17th)

I am in one of the London boroughs who were forced to U-Turn on early school closure as well. So we should have finished on the 15th (I only sent them in as I had to work Sad and they were excited to go as there were lots of festive activities etc)

We were advised contact 17th, SI til midnight 27th.

straggoll · 26/12/2020 10:57

We were advised, by the school, to SI until midnight on the 28th due to exposure on 18th- for 10 days.

DH had close contact on 17tg, he can go out on Monday. The rest of your family can still go out for walks, food shopping if no one has symptoms.

Crunchymum · 26/12/2020 11:04

Thanks for all the responses

@starfish4 feels a bit unfair that the 5yo has to stay in whilst the rest of them go out (she is the one who most loves to be outside as well).

Older DC has been on a few discreet bike rides / walks with DP and I went to the shops on 22nd but other than that #cabin fever Grin

If you have a garden she can play there

The rest of the family are fine to go out, it's only the close contact person who has to isolate for10 days from the last contact.

I was exposed on the 17th and have been told to self-isolate until the 27th.
