Sore eyes

One of my eyes has been sore at the outer corner for a few days. Today, they both are , and there is a foamy scum on the lower lash line.

No redness in the white of the eye

I’m assuming blepharitis , but just wanted to check and see if anyone has associated this sort of symptom with corona. I have no other symptoms

(I have Googled, by the way, and ‘pink eye’ is
Sometimes a symptom of COVID. Mine aren’t pink though, and i reckon they’ve been sore long enough for any pinkness to come out if it were going to)

The only eye symptom I had when I had corona was that it hurt to move my eyeballs.

BaileyBoos · 24/12/2020 16:13

Sounds like Blepharitis. I have it chronically it’s miserable, hope it clears soon for you.

Pretty certain I had covid back in March. I had very sore eyes but no gunk or anything. Friends with confirmed Covid also reported sore eyes. Again no gunk! Any other symptoms?

Mumsnut · 24/12/2020 16:46

DH and I have had covid and had sore eyes, but they were more red-rimmed and itchy (and hurt to move in the sockets). No gunk or pinkness.

If you haven't got a temp, cough of loss of taste/smell, have you got an aching lower back, legs, or stabbing pains in your joints? Does the skin feel sore across your back?

That was how I started, didn't get the temp or slight cough for a few days.

Doh! BABY shampoo

No more achy than usual Carina: am trying to exercise every day at the moment

Fingers crossed - I think it's easy to attribute everything to bloody covid at the moment!

Shampoo is a bad idea surely?! What about some boiled, cooled, slightly salty water?

Porcupineintherough · 24/12/2020 18:49

As far as I know coronavirus sore eyes dont come with gunk. Mine were bloodshot and stung like I had got smoke in them but no signs of infection.

starrynight19 · 24/12/2020 18:52

Mine were pink when I had covid but not gunky.

Iamsodonewith2020 · 24/12/2020 20:52

2 colleagues both tested +ve yesterday after sore eyes about 5 days earlier.

Dannn · 24/12/2020 23:21

Also had sore eyes as my only symptom. They weren’t gunky or red or red though, just actually hurt to move them. Hope you’re okay OP.

Mumsnut · 24/12/2020 23:36

I’m feeling no pain after smoked salmon and champagne.
