I keep googling and I'm either scrolling past the answer or I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Is it a month?

I think February.

Redbrickwall · 24/12/2020 14:35

We will all be in tier 10 by January 31st 2021 where we have to ask Matt Wanksock for permission to open our windows for fear of the virus coming into the house

whenwillthemadnessend · 24/12/2020 14:35

Harry Potter studio have cancelled all booked until 22 jan so they are not planning a new year opening.

ceeveebee · 24/12/2020 14:36

The tier legislation expires on 2 February so will need to be re-voted in before then.
They are required to review at least every 2 weeks but I think it’s unlikely that any area will come out of tier 4 in the 30 December review, more likely that more areas will be added if not the whole country.
And then I think after then it will depend on whether they move to online learning for uni, secondary, primary - if they do then rates will fall more quickly, if they don’t then it will carry on rising and we will be in it until at least February half term...

@NoMansAnIsland

When the r rate drops well below one
When the infection rate per 100,000 is will below50
When the country is 50% plus vaccinated.

Just guesses but you know.

ilovesooty · 24/12/2020 14:37

All the country will probably go into tier 4 until at least April. Avoids using the word lockdown.

LovingLen · 24/12/2020 14:40

When we have been vaccinated I guess - so not anytime soon

@OhDear2200

When we go into Tier 5

Too true!

In Scotland they did publish the guidelines around what constitutes what re tiers (levels) but they then ignored them. Thinking Stirling.

notevenat20 · 24/12/2020 14:43

Re:tier 5. In France you have had to fill in a form for permission to leave the house. In Spain even children weren't allowed out for a long time. It can get worse...

notevenat20 · 24/12/2020 14:46

In South Korea I believe you had to carry your phone with a tracking app installed whenever you left the house. Everyone could check online to see the movements of anyone who had tested positive. In Croatia the police would knock on your door hours after you came back from a trip.

So many options for Johnson to consider...

Chloemol · 24/12/2020 14:54

Due for review 30th tbh I am expecting a full lockdown and closure of schools for January, as other countries in Europe have done

I would rather be dead than live like that

They are determined to roll out the schools mass testing programme and delayed start through January.

So my assumption was until at least January 31st.

Also by the fact BJ let slip Jan 31st instead of December in his original T4 presser.

I'm assuming it was a fraud and slip!

I don't want to be in T4. My ds has gone downhill again as swimming has stopped again. But I cannot see how they can track spread until schools are open and know if they can open up anything else until they know the effect of schools opening on R.

Not that they've done a brilliant job of tracking schools data up until now - or they've just hidden it well Hmm

MotherExtraordinaire · 24/12/2020 15:06

The foreseeable if not months.

KatherineJaneway · 24/12/2020 15:10

Next review is the 30th but, in my opinion, that will just be so they can tell schools not to go back. The spread of this new strain is horrific.

It will be a few months I think.

Frazzled2207 · 24/12/2020 16:08

I’d say sometime between February and April.
Currently in tier 3 and expecting to join you in t4 within days.

BeakyWinder · 24/12/2020 16:26

When they shut the pubs again in October I predicted it would be March before they re-opened. Sad

SophieB100 · 24/12/2020 17:28
