Does my isolation start again?

I tested positive and am about to end my isolation - my husband has also now tested positive and track and trace have contacted me to say I need to isolate for another 10 days. I'm sure I'd read somewhere that this wasn't the case but can't find anything online now. Wales if that makes any difference. Thank you!

If you are still in isolation then no. If you aren't in isolation any more than yes

Humptydumpty85 · 24/12/2020 12:33

Great thank you! I am still in isolation until the 26th, they now want me to isolate to the 31st. If anyone has a link to anything confirming this that's be great.

If other household members develop symptoms during this period, you do not need to isolate for longer than 10 days.

It depends if you were in isolation because of a contact and then tested positive you need to isolate according to the positive. Then your clock starts ticking from the date of symptoms or date of test.

We were in this position. I tested positive first, then a couple of days later my partner did. I think the track and trace thing is automatically generated when your husband put in your details in the bit where he is asked who he lives with?

I asked and they told me I didn’t need to re-isolate.

Thank you all! We can just about make it until boxing day but I was really hoping to go out and get some food to try and salvage some of the Christmas period for my little ones - so it's a relief to hear I'd not imagined this! I did ask but he said he had to go by the system and I was so fed up by this point I just agreed.

I am in the exact same position my isolation ends today my dh ends on 26th I feel fine and went on walk as my 10days was up

Humptydumpty85 · 24/12/2020 19:04

I don't blame you cusionpad. With 4 members of our household we could potentially be isolating for 40 days if they restart it everytime!!

As pps said, as long as DH tested positive during your SI and not after, then you do not extend your isolation.
It's confusing though as you will have been flagged as a contact of DH, which is where the 10 days comes from.
Enjoy your freedom when it comes!
