Hi everyone I work on a nhs ward
It's all covid at the moment!

Most and I say most of the staff are positive and off work.
One of my colleagues have just come back positive and she has been off on annual leave for nearly 2 weeks, I know she could've picked up anywhere!

Just want to know if anyone out there has been I contact with covid and has not picked it up, I'm just so worried I'm going to be next. I am very careful with my cleaning at work and try not to touch door handles etc
Just need a bit of reassurance really.
Thank you in advance xx

Hey I'm sorry you are feeling anxious.

I am too, about the new strains and the MIS-C thing in children.

If it helps, not everyone will pick up the virus, even if in close contact. My DC tested positive, the first on the 25th November. I didn't distance from the youngest (11) he was breathing right in my face, in my bed etc. I tested negative and have had no symptoms.

You may get it, you may not, but hopefully it will be mild for you even if you do get it.

Also, many thanks for the work you do xx

Honestly, I completely understand your worry. NHS worker here too. My anxiety is fuelled by tiredness at the moment, it's relentless at work and unlikely to improve for the foreseeable.

Anxiety isn't helped by seeing the most unwell of patients and wondering how unwell will we be unlucky enough to get. It's a known fact that us HCP go to the worst case scenario Smile

I'm supporting covid wards, I see the sheer weight of responsibility you are under, staffing is awful, understandably more so on covid areas. You are doing an amazing job, everyone is thankful.

What I find helpful, going for a walk after work, a bubble bath, debriefing with colleagues, wine and more wine.

Sending positivity and understanding your way. It will get better Thanks
