Same. And a shooting, pressure headache.

Earlgrey666 · 22/12/2020 22:00

I recently had horrendous sinus type pain for 3 days and looked so rough. I felt achey and fatigued. I didn't have a test as didn't fit any of the criteria but I do wonder if it was covid.

tootyfruitypickle · 22/12/2020 22:18

Also had same thing with massive sinus pain and waiting for test result.

It did feel like standard heavy cold (and am now much better, just achey), so I’ll be amazed, but Zoe app sent me. Coughing a lot now but that’s also not unusual for me.

MoirasRoses · 22/12/2020 23:17

Could be, could not be. I’m prone to sinus pain. The minute I get a cold, I get pain round my eyes, cheekbones, lower forehead. So it could just be a minor cold & congestion.

However, I tested positive for COVID a couple weeks ago with awful sinus pain. Overall, I had it very mildly but blimey were the sinus headaches awful. And peculiar as usually that level of sinus pain is when I’m really congested & snotty. But not at all with this. Very odd. I was also extremely tired. Those were my only two symptoms the entire time.

poppyrock · 22/12/2020 23:21

My sister had sinus pain and assumed it was just a sinus infection. She got tested last week to be safe (had no other symptoms) and was positive for covid.

TheSpottedZebra · 22/12/2020 23:28

I think it varies. I have shit sinuses (quite a few operations) and am currently positive for covid with no sinus pain!

TheSpottedZebra · 22/12/2020 23:29

That was meant to say shit sinuses with frequent sinus pain...

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 22/12/2020 23:30

Mmm this is weird as have felt a bit weird and sinusy really.

Went for a run and could barely manage 20 minutes as legs so tired.

I feel better today and no cough or fever.

Crapbuttrue · 22/12/2020 23:38

I have sinus pain. Bit sneezy too. Assumed it was a cold but Zoë app sent me for a test. It was negative. Sinuses worse now but I can breathe through my nose and apart from a slight runny nose I'm not that snotty.

But reading about positives on here makes me think I should get another test.

balloon27 · 23/12/2020 00:16

My sinus pain has been horrendous! Keep getting bad sinus headaches too my eyes feel bruised , tested positive 10 days ago

maybelaterdear · 23/12/2020 01:52

Coffeeandcrumpet · 23/12/2020 13:53

My test results came back this morning - negative. Still feel crappy but glad it's not covid. Hope everyone is feeling better. Xx

NameChange84 · 23/12/2020 13:56

I recently tested negative through work. I’m almost 100% that mine has flared up due to wearing masks for longer than usual (many more hours per day recently, plus cold outdoor and hot indoor temperatures.

Plussizejumpsuit · 23/12/2020 14:19

I've had 2 sinus infections this year and some ongoing sinus issues. I had tests both times as I lost sense of smell and taste. Neither were covid. Just sharing my experience.

Crapbuttrue · 23/12/2020 14:26

Had a test again one of the quick turnaround ones and it was negative.

maybelaterdear · 24/12/2020 23:58

Got a test this morning.hopefully will hear back soon.

Hi ....horrible mucus in throat for weeks more one side than the other.
Has anyone had continuos throat mucus after a bout of sinusitis including ringing in ears. Been struggling for weeks did have a chesty cough as well but that's cleared. Civid test negative.
Driving me nuts as constantly throat clearing or coughing to clear. Dr says it's Post Nasal Drip. Tried everything but given up as nothing works!!!! Now just taking cetetizine antihistamine and occasional sudafed. Feel very sick in the night due to swallowing rubbish. It's pushing my anxiety levels through the roof as just can't clear. Constant throat clearing makes my throat sore and hubby gets very frustrated with me doing it.

Private ENT Tel consultation Thursday as can't get NHS referral due to Covid.
Anyone able to help pleeeaaassseeeee

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 09/02/2021 07:32

This is how mine and my Dh started last April. We were so poorly, I remember ringing the doctors every few days because it hurt so much. They weren’t testing back then unless serious. Within a few days I started coughing and ended up on an inhaler. Dh lost his taste and smell before it was even classed as a symptom.

DarceyDashwood · 09/02/2021 09:19

Our council is now asking people to get tested for any cold symptom at all or if feeling generally unwell. They are saying don’t wait for the three main symptoms. I felt a bit under the weather last week so followed this advice and got tested (negative) and there’s now a box to tick when you book a test saying you don’t have any of the main symptoms and are getting tested because your local authority has asked you to - which I thought was an interesting development. They made a point of saying you don’t have to self isolate without the three main symptoms also so clearly are trying to encourage people to get tested or in any doubt.

Hope you are negative and feel better soon OP.

I too have had horrendous sinus pain. Very unwell for over a fortnight. I am prone to sinus problems but never had anything as bad as this which lasted so long, had to take to my bed. No other symptoms, no sore throat, wasn’t snotty or lost my sense of taste. Spoke to someone at the doctors surgery who said that sinus pain isn’t usually associated with Covid and that there was no need for a test unless there were other symptoms. She prescribed antibiotics which helped and 2 1/2 weeks later after the first symptoms am starting to feel on the mend. I don’t think all the outdoor walks and standing around in cold damp weather for distanced chats has helped.

AmadeustheAlpaca · 09/02/2021 13:01

Witwicca: Try avoiding dairy as much as possible, I felt worse after eating soft cheese. It’s not a magical solution, but you get to the stage that you’ll try anything.

Iamclearlyamug · 09/02/2021 13:03

Definitely - a sinusy pressure headache was my only symptom, I got that last Wednesday, tested on Friday and got a positive result Saturday morning. Sinus pain is about all that’s wrong with me, feel like I’ve got a bit of a cold but thankfully nothing more serious - in theory this is day 6 for me
