Should I get a test?

Probably been done 1000 x but I’m getting mixed messages looking through past posts.

I don’t think it’s a cold. No blocked nose or sneezing like I usually get. I am however aching all over, headache and sore throat. Very tired and foggy headed. No cough, temp or loss of taste/smell though.

I would, so many people don't have typical symptoms and it will give you peace of mind. If there isn't a test available straight away keep refreshing as they do release more

larrythelizard · 22/12/2020 18:36

I also would

CopperPotter · 22/12/2020 18:44

Thanks. It’s more that I don’t want to pass it on, if that’s what it is. There have been quite a few cases around us recently.

I have the same symptoms. Started with a sore throat last Tuesday - 3 days of just a sore throat. Friday morning I woke up feeling really awful, aching, foggy head and absolute bone tiredness but having difficulty sleeping.

White spot on tonsils, headache, dry sore sinuses, strange smells and generally feeling unwell. Really weird ‘wired’ feeling too.

No temperature though, just feeling hot and flushed at times. This continued over the weekend, throat gets better but cough started yesterday along with headache, leg and back pains.

I got tested today so I’ll update when I get my result. Hope you feel better soon.

@Stollenandsnow that’s exactly how I’m feeling. Please me know your results. If I’m still feeling like this tomorrow I’m getting a test.

I would definitely get a test just Incase and like you said prevent spreading it if it is. I had similar was feeling like it for a few days got a test and it came back negative. Still felt awful for a week after!

CopperPotter · 24/12/2020 07:39

@Stollenandsnow what were your results?

OP posts:
Northernsoullover · 24/12/2020 07:42

I would. I have worked on many covid cases and the headache featured in almost all of them. Other symptoms less so.

CheshireSplat · 24/12/2020 07:45

I had a headache and aches for a few days, then sore throat. Then a couple of coughs. I got a test. I was the only one at the test centre I went to, so I wasn't taking a test from someone with more classic symptoms.

inquietant · 24/12/2020 07:47

You're not supposed to under our system, but our system is stupid and almost designed to miss half the fucking cases so maybe you should.

Sorry, I'm a bit angry today having seen cases hit almost forty thousand due to our gung hi government's failures combined with this new strain.

CopperPotter · 24/12/2020 07:48

Hope you’re ok now. What were your results @CheshireSplat?

OP posts:
Stollenandsnow · 24/12/2020 07:51

Still waiting for results here, I’ll update once I have them. I don’t feel so bad now, just very woozy and strange on waking in the morning and a residual cough / funny taste in mouth.

PeachiceT · 24/12/2020 08:06

I had similar symtoms 4 weeks ago and then got a temp so tested, it was negative. However I have heard of people having these symtolms and testing positive

CheshireSplat · 24/12/2020 08:08

Oh sorry, negative! Only took about 20 hours to get result but I missed it in my emails so we did another 12 hours isolating before DH looked for it. Whoops.

CopperPotter · 24/12/2020 12:43

I’ve just been tested, will report back. Expecting a 24 hr turnaround.

Stollenandsnow · 25/12/2020 12:09

Just popping on to update, after testing Tuesday lunchtime with a sore throat, flu feeling, light headedness and subsequent cough, this morning got a negative at 8am. So there’s clearly other bugs still circulating.

Hope everyone else gets their results soon x

CopperPotter · 25/12/2020 12:35

That’s great news! Sounds like we have the same thing hopefully. Merry Christmas!!!

OP posts:
CopperPotter · 26/12/2020 13:24

My test was negative too

OP posts:
CheshireSplat · 26/12/2020 20:00

Phew OP. When did you get the result? Did you enjoy Christmas?

upsidedownroundabout · 27/12/2020 07:34

Hi OP, I had a test for travel reasons with your symptom profile and tested positive. I gather it's hard to get an NHS test if you don't have the three classic symptoms but I personally think that's mad as so many people must not know they have it.

upsidedownroundabout · 27/12/2020 07:37

Oh just saw your update, that's great
