As you mention - this is currently only in Wales, but does make you wonder if other nations will follow suit.

I'm in tier 3, I hope I'm not dragged back to the keep-your-windows closed shielding.

Pandoraslastchance · 22/12/2020 17:46

I'm in tier 4 England and I've literally just recieved the shielding text message. Sad

amaryllisu · 22/12/2020 17:46

This is not new news...

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 22/12/2020 17:49

It's not just Wales. I'm in England and got a text a short while ago saying it's back for people in Tier 4.

It’s shield again in England if you are in tier 4

I’ve just had the morale sapping text, with promise of a letter to follow,

The hub is open again, and you can register for a supermarket delivery slot if you don’t already have one. I’ve had an email from the council with info on how access their support

It’s June style shielding - going out for outdoor exercise/leisure is OK but we are urged to choose uncrowded places and quiet times of day, and only with household/bubble (no plus one)

Also WFH, but if you can’t you still must not attend a workplace.

Other then exercise, only go out for medical appointments

FourTeaFallOut · 22/12/2020 17:51

The shielding advice has changed for those in tier 4 who are cev and it has also escalated the responsibility of the local authorities to support those in shielding. So, yeah, new news. I don't know much about what is happening in Wales though.

nether · 22/12/2020 17:56

This is the current shielding advice

www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19

The TL:DR version is that if you are CEV, live a notch higher than the tier you are in

msbevvy · 22/12/2020 17:57

I got my shielding email yesterday (England) and today the Council are texting offering support.
My DH hasn't received anything and he was told to shield last time. I just hope they don't forget about him when it comes to the vaccine.

This is not new news...
It may not be new news to you but many of us didn't know. This is the first I've heard of it.
Atalune · 22/12/2020 18:16

Is it only for teir 4?

Good luck everyone x

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 22/12/2020 18:59

I just checked and I did get an email yesterday but didn't read it properly Blush

FourTeaFallOut · 22/12/2020 19:06

Those getting emails, are you all in tier 4?

Haenow · 22/12/2020 19:12

Yep only tier 4.

FourTeaFallOut · 22/12/2020 19:13

Thank you.

CatkinToadflax · 22/12/2020 19:19

Tier 4 here too and just had the text. 🙄

Crunchymum · 22/12/2020 19:26

I got the email last night (England, T4)

SymphonyofShadows · 22/12/2020 19:29

Had the text too, T4. I wonder how long the letter will take to arrive? I got the last one 10 days after the last lockdown.

TheFormidableMrsC · 22/12/2020 19:40

I've had a letter, email today and a text this evening.

OpheliasCrayon · 22/12/2020 19:42

I got an email yesterday and text today. I'm in the UK. Deleted them both but mostly I'm waiting for my letter so I can continue with my ceremonial shredding of shielding notifications. You couldn't pay me to shield. I've been teaching throughout and will continue

Sexnotgender · 22/12/2020 19:44

Is this covering Scotland too?

Haenow · 22/12/2020 21:36

@Sexnotgender

Is this covering Scotland too?
Pretty sure it’s not Scotland but couldn’t be 100%
baublesbaubleseverywhere · 23/12/2020 00:23

Does anyone have an updated list of conditions classed as ECV? I know it's now much shorter than it was.

jessstan1 · 23/12/2020 00:38

I didn't know it had stopped.

LouScot · 23/12/2020 00:45

Hi yes, Scotland too - Gregor Smith (CMO) tweeted earlier that letters would be sent out to "shielders"
