We (our household) have a lunch booked at a restaurant on Xmas day. It’s in our tier. For various reasons that would be outing, it’s not possible for us to cook a proper turkey lunch etc at home. We could have basic food microwaved. We want to go out, there’s 3 of us, adults.

One of us is over 60, has mild asthma. I’m starting to panic about going out. Would you still go?

I'd let the person with asthma decide.

They’ve said they are a bit nervous, would rather go out and were happy to do so before this new strain panic set in. They were happy with going before that was on the news and now they’re in two minds.

Is the restaurant able to offer you a take away Christmas dinner? A few restaurants by us have advertised both and eat in and take away set menu for Christmas day

suitsnot · 21/12/2020 19:09

No we have asked that already. We are not city based, not many places round here.

I don't live anywhere near a city either but some local restaurants are doing take away Christmas Dinner. But also some of our local takeaway outlets are open Christmas day too, we've got the Indian earmarked for any last minute changes

What are your case number like in your area?

manicinsomniac · 21/12/2020 19:27

Yes, definitely.

I'd feel safer in a restaurant than in someone's home. Easier to spread out and the ones I've been in are so covid secure that it would be difficult to catch it from someone not in your party anyway. I'd maybe avoid using the toilets if I could.
