Child arrangements and Tier 4

Hi, my 5 Year old DD is due to spend 5 days over Christmas. I'm in tier 3 and he is in Cambridge which is tier 2. My worry is that with Cambridge being surrounded by Tier 4 areas, it could get moved to Tier 4 whilst be daughter is staying there. Will this mean I have difficulties getting my daughter home? I can't seem to find much information online. Can anyone help please?

Correction, that first sentence should read ''Hi, my 5 Year old DD is due to spend 5 days over Christmas with her Dad''.

Tier 4 Guidance

Parents can still take their children to school, and people can continue existing arrangements for contact between parents and children where they live apart.

No, it will still be okay as it’s an exception to lockdown rules, and if you have a court order you have to follow that, regardless.

Thank you both for your replies. There is a court order in place and we have continued with childcare arrangements as normal throughout the pandemic. I've just been stressing a bit about what would happen if her dad got moved to tier 4 whilst she's there, as everything seems to move so quickly and I find it all quite frightening at the moment.

You will be able to go and pick her up even if he goes into tier 4. It also won’t be an excuse for him to keep her longer, as he would be in breach of the court order if he did.
