Just found out this evening that I'm COVID positive. Gobsmacked really. First week back at work (primary school) after maternity. A child was in on the Tuesday I started back, off on the Wednesday with high temp. His twin, who is in my class, has it too. I was nowhere near them that day and I have it. I just can't believe it.
Now I'm lying in bed, locked in my own room, trying to come to terms with no first Christmas Day for my 8 month old. If I have it then him and his dad must surely have it. Has anyone had the virus yet their household managed to escape contracting it?
How is my partner going to cope on his own and not be able to take him out at all.
Just not feeling the best right now.

I'm sorry the situation sucks. My eldest DC caught it at school. I caught it from him. 11 days on from my symptoms starting and my DP and other DC (22months) haven't caught it. Ive been in my room everyday throughout isolation period and partner has slept downstairs but my youngest has slept in the same room as me.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know it's little comfort but I know quite a few people who've had it and not passed it to anyone in their house hold and they weren't isolating in their own rooms.

I had it and no one in my family caught it and we were mixing all through the isolation period. My nephew has had it and no one in his household has caught it either. It isn't necessarily that everyone in the house will get it. Try not to worry. Thanks
