Childcare bubble T4/T2

I live in a T4 area, my parents who provide part of our childcare, live in a T2 area. I was under the impression that they could continue to provide childcare for us but having read posts here I'm now confused, can they travel into a T4 area for this reason? I feel dumb trying to get my head around all of this tbh!

For childcare yes - this is still ok. We toyed with going from T4 to T2 next week because our nursery is closed and both me and DH are supposed to be working, but we're luckily able to work from home and while it will be hard with an 18 month old, we're just too scared to risk it and potentially infect anyone.

You can only have childcare in tier 4 for the purposes of work and education so it depends on the purpose for the childcare.

What if you partner is working and you mentally can't cope ?

Thanks, that's helpful, all I'm finding on the gov site seems to say similar.

I’ve read and reread the childcare bubble guidance- You can have a childcare bubble in tier 4. It states
‘ You can only use a childcare bubble for childcare. You cannot use a childcare bubble to mix with another household for other reasons.’ however it doesn’t say this is for work only. So long as you are not using this for you to socialise with the person providing childcare then you can form one in tier 4. Not all children in nursery are there to facilitate the parent working.

That’s not correct. Technically you can only have childcare provided by a nanny or childminder for the purposes of work, looking for work, training or education. That restriction doesn’t apply to informal childcare bubble - this has no restrictions placed on it.
