Attached the link on the new Variant below from the BMJ.
In other words, yes there is a varied version of the virus, but no it's not anymore dangerous than the other version. It's just a slightly different version. It will still respond to the vaccine.
But overall cases are increasing so rapidly that people's movements needed to be restricted - regardless of what variant it is.
