Do positive test results come back sooner than negative ones??

Just that. Told it will be 24-48 hours for a result. Dd is convinced that people with positive results are told first. Are they?

No. I don’t see why, it’s not like they know who is negative or positive prior to testing. Your sample is tested by the lab in turn, and then you receive your result.

I thought that, but dd reckoned the lab tested lots of tests then told positive people first - which kind of makes sense...

In our experience it took longer for us to get our positive than negative. But possibly when we were positive it was a busier time generally. What is your daughter basing this on?

No.

I had a test this morning at 11:30. Text to say I was positive at 9pm.

Dd was tested yesterday at lunchtime. Text 6:30am today to say positive

Pretty fast.

My daughters was tested at 8am and we had her negative test back at 9pm that evening, so I don't think it's a case of positive first then negative. Just depends when they process your results.

DH tested Friday afternoon in London, still no result back. 😫
