So we were due to see my parents on Xmas day and in laws boxing. We rotate Xmas Boxing Day every year, so for all fairness it in my parents year.

We have two school age children who have been at school and it has been such a huge relief to get through the first term without being contact traced. We would have continued to homeschool but my eldest has adhd and let’s just say it’s a miracle we made it through lockdown 1.

My Dh is a extremely vulnerable.

Mil is in a childcare bubble with dh sister. She is also incredibly reckless and seems to be popping in to x y and z.

Today I found out my mum and dad have been regularly having indoor visits with my brothers family.

I feel so pissed off. We are the ones that are suffering longer and longer while our parents are breaking the rules.

We are not t4 and cases in our area are relatively low.

Would you cancel Xmas altogether seeing anyone? By proxy they are putting my dh at risk. I know they will say we’ve been at risk all term having the kids in school which is true but I just feel so let down.

Yes, cancel after this evening’s announcement. It’s not worth the risk at the moment.

I would cancel, given tonight's announcement and your husband's vulnerability.

I'd cancel, it's a relief to have a lower risk period with the children at home. I wouldn't compromise that for people who haven't followed the rules.
