Which support bubbles are in tier four?

At the beginning of the briefing boris said the exemptions of bubbles apply but then later said support bubbles for loneliness at Christmas only

Do support bubbles for babies under 1 still apply? I’m sorry if I’m being thick I’m trying to take it all in while trying not to let my fed up weariness and upset get the better of me

He wasn't clearly enough. We will have to wait for the official guidance to be published.

Following as I’m also wondering this

Need to know the same re: childcare bubbles.

DebbieFiderer · 19/12/2020 18:30

Childcare bubbles are allowed in all tiers

Its not obviously gospel, but BBC mentioned all support bubbles will remain in Tier 4.

Thats what I am hoping for as my friends were meant to be coming over tomorrow. Neither of us have families in the area so we kind of are each others during lockdown.

From what I can see it's only single person households still allowed to form a bubble in Tier 4 :(
Obviously I'm relieved people won't be alone but gutted we have to lose our support bubble (DS under 1) as it's been a real lifesaver.

The under 1 year old support bubble is still in place in tier 4.

MRex · 20/12/2020 08:09

It still applies, I've no idea what you're reading to think it doesn't. Look here: www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home?priority-taxon=774cee22-d896-44c1-a611-e3109cce8eae.

This was from before the recent news but explains a childcare bubble well - is for childcare rather than social meets up with your baby and parent

@Alarae Support bubbles are only for those in single adult households. If you are a lone parent then I think you can have one with friends, but they can't form a bubble with anyone else- it's not an excuse to socialise with friends.

Spanglebangle · 20/12/2020 10:10

@FreekStar It is not only for single parent houses anymore. You can form a bubble if you have a baby under 1 regardless of how many adults in the house.

MRex · 20/12/2020 13:55

@becca3210 - a childcare bubble is for childcare, a support bubble is not the same thing and has its own rules. Anyone with a baby under 1 can have a support bubble; the support is for the adults not for childcare (though childcare could be part of that support).
