Will flights out of London to the EU be cancelled do you think?

Why don't you ask the airlines?

Elephant4 · 19/12/2020 17:23

No. We've been told to only fly if necessary.

I haven't flown for 20 years - but am thinking of flying somewhere instead of visiting my dad in boring Bristol. I think flying is allowed still, whereas visiting my dad is not.

No. Grant Shapps' High Net Worth Individuals have to be able to swan about without quarantine. Essential business, dontcha know.

HopeAndDriftWood · 19/12/2020 17:32

It’ll be dependent on how many people are booked to fly, again, like in November. It was a nightmare. You weren’t sure flights would go ahead until the last minute.

CodenameVillanelle · 19/12/2020 17:33

No, they haven't been cancelled yet so why would they now?

Puddington · 19/12/2020 19:30

I did have a domestic flight cancelled in November but think it was perhaps due to low bookings as I was able to rebook for a slightly different route (larger city in the same country) which went ahead. Just seems to be a roll of the dice.

I’m still in tier 2 at the moment, but surrounded by tier 4 - I’ve got flights booked for January 11th to see my fiancé who I haven’t seen for 5 months 😢😢 I swear if I can’t go I’ll be back on anti depressants and sleeping tablets, my MH is already on the edge 🤦‍♂️😞

Puddington · 19/12/2020 19:49

Nevermind, the company my boyfriend booked with to spend Christmas with me just tweeted that after Nicola Sturgeon's announcement they need to amend their schedule, ie they're cancelling everything. Absolutely beyond devastated.

Kumquatsquash · 20/12/2020 20:31

@Puddington I'm so sorry to hear that Flowers

I'm booked for Greece in 2 days. They haven't cancelled flights yet but its looking likely.

Flights won’t be cancelled because they don’t want to refund people. You won’t be allowed to get on them of course. Or get off at the other end. But technically the flight will still be on.

meditrina · 21/12/2020 09:09

Flights will be cancelled to those countries who are no longer permitting any arrivals from the UK

Ditto ferries and trains

This has already begun, and more countries might decide to suspend arrivals too (EU meeting to decide a common position?)

Kumquatsquash · 21/12/2020 09:23

I'd already abandoned plans to travel once the second wave hit. If they cancel the flight I'm hoping I can rebook it for next year.
