So where I live could be going into tier 4. Not good 😌

TheRubyRedshoes · 19/12/2020 16:23

I've had no local warning that my immediate vicinity is in a worrying position. Places in a 10 mile radius away, have had pockets of problems.
We are now tier 4.

We hadn't planned a large bubble mix. But I don't blame around around me who did because we have been dragged into tier 4 by places not near to us

ApolloandDaphne · 19/12/2020 16:24

@DivisionBelles

What time does this come into force?
First thing tomorrow morning. I'm not sure they specified a time.
EachandEveryone · 19/12/2020 16:29

Do the trains from kings cross just stop?

Gingerninja4 · 19/12/2020 16:31

Wondering whwn there stated exactly which counties half of Herts went to tier3 Wednesday rest of Hertfordshire went to tier 3 this morning.
Am expecting chances are will be tier 4 (we are staying home as yesterday someone in youngest bubble confirmed Postive so had to cancel plans see my sister

My sister is Essex but Tendering which stayed tier 2 with Colchester and uttlesford tier 2 and rest of Essex was tier 3 wondering if there jump to tier 4 as well or split the county again

Ditto for Hertfordshire

SockDrawer · 19/12/2020 16:31

Is there a map? I can’t find one.

Username198 · 19/12/2020 16:31

Time to add a shotgun to my Christmas list I think

IntermittentParps · 19/12/2020 16:32

EachandEveryone, surely not?!? Not King's X, but DP and I are (were?) planning to take a train out of our Tier 4 area in the next few days…

Gingerninja4 · 19/12/2020 16:32

@apolloandDapahne

I am guessing be 00.01 again

PicsInRed · 19/12/2020 16:37

If they meant it, they would have sent police officers to main junctions and locked it down before announcing.

Guaranteed, in London and SE there are many thousands of people racing out the door with a hurriedly stuffed carry-on bag, as we speak.

Dragongirl10 · 19/12/2020 16:38

*How do they cancel Christmas? I’ve bought and wrapped most the presents, bought most of our food, our tree is up and the house decorated. This morning we watched DD’s Christmas show from school (school emailed it to us). We’ve been writing our neighbours Christmas cards this afternoon to post tomorrow. On Monday DC and I are going to make mince pies ready for Christmas Eve. On Tuesday we’re going to decorate the Christmas cake. Weather permitting we’re going to go on our usual Christmas Eve morning walk in a local country park (just won’t be able to stop off for Christmas treats on the way home so we’ll get some in) In the evening we’ll go for a neighbourhood walk to look at the houses all lit up. Christmas Day we’ll still have lunch and then watch a film in the afternoon. Yes it’ll be sad that we won’t have any guests or be going to see others but we will FaceTime relatives.

I’m in Medway, Kent. The infection rate is 830/100,000, My hospital is really fucking struggling - it’s scary. If having a quiet Christmas makes it just slightly easier for the medics then I’m happy to do it.*

This^^

Very sensible post form Drunkenkoala.

Lavanderrose · 19/12/2020 16:39

I think the government made a huge mistake end of summer/September time with the eat out to help out scheme, everyone back to school full time, office workers back to work, uni students back to university, holidays, etr The virus was able to take hold again, we need to learn to live with this thing and slowly open back up not all at once then having to lockdown again. We are all living this yo-yo life at the moment, it’s unsettling and the last thing we need to be doing is blaming each other.

boatyardblues · 19/12/2020 16:39

Boris really isn’t on top of the details. Good for Chris Whitty acknowledging the first caller’s loss, seeing as Boris failed to.

boatyardblues · 19/12/2020 16:43

I like Chris Whitty. He’s explaining things so clearly and answering the questions properly.

ceeveebee · 19/12/2020 16:44

Sorry to those who now have to cancel their plans to travel. But it’s the right thing to do

Only the tier 3 parts of Essex are going in to tier 4 according to the sun at least and from what he said. So tendring remains tier 2.

According to DM it doesn't include Colchester, rendering and uttlesford.
Gingerninja4 · 19/12/2020 17:00

Thank you am relieved for my sister as means she can have her eldest and partner round on Christmas as it may tipped her over (she has Bi polar ) and she was already upset with me cancellering as tier 3 and then son's bubble burst as well

Gingerninja4 · 19/12/2020 17:01

Though wonder how many in test of Essex will now just head to Colchester to finish shopping

DrDetriment · 19/12/2020 17:12

Ex was driving from London to Birmingham. Sounds like it was just over zealous police but very scary. He's really worried about his mum now with tier 4 and how he's going to get her what she needs if he can't drive there.

RainbowRaine · 19/12/2020 17:53

My DM just sent me this

So if someone stole your car that would be OK because only sheeple follow laws made by parliament?

I noticed this and lots of other people will have too.

Boris is a horrible man
