Let’s face it the government are screened either way here. If they increase xmas restrictions in response to an every changing situation they will be hated by some, if they do nothing and there is a surge in infections leading to more hospital problems or another lockdown then they will asked why they did nothing. If it is recommended that people don’t mix then why would people ignore that? Because they can’t bear to spend Xmas with just those they live with? It’s one day FFS, those who live in single households can mix so no one has to be alone. The main worry in our house is whether we can travel from the SE to the NE on 23rd for my Fil funeral on xmas eve

What is the solution? What should we be doing? To those who sat to ‘fuck the rules’ - what is the answer?

Sadly we would as a country have been better off if Boris Johnson had died of the virus, not that I want or wanted anyone to die from it.

This is pretty strong - I'm not sure I would wish death on him.

However, there is a genuine concern that he's never properly recovered, and that without a significant period of time to recuperate, he's been struggling ever since. He really should have been out of action for longer than he was. I do often wonder whether he's physically and mentally fit enough for the job at the moment.

In amongst the various news feeds about potential tier 4 , I did see that they're expecting Oxford vaccine approval on 28 or 29 Dec. Just thought I'd share some good news.

I'll be seeing my mum and sister regardless. We are all in London and we've all been isolating for 2 weeks to be able to do this.

Yep. Especially those who can’t figure out how it works (yes colleague you, it doesn’t mean visiting 4 different households over 5 days with several differing households each day).

Like I said earlier - we are at the mercy of a virus that is unpredictable and mutating. If we start saying fuck the rules, and live the sociable life that we want to live - the virus will be very very happy.
