I almost can’t stand it. What the hell will they be announcing now?

The best Christmas present would be Boris Johnson's resignation but that would not be announced alongside Chris Whitty, as he would smile for once.

Tier 4 I assume is non-essential shops closing, just a question of when.

SimonJT · 19/12/2020 14:33

London in tier 4 after the government made schools reopen in London...

I’m not surprised, we are meant to be going away for two nights at new year, if we can’t go it isn’t the end of the world. We can do it another time.

MarshaBradyo · 19/12/2020 14:33

Eurosprog and you bothered to type that to feel superior. Good on you Hmm

Cantstandsmugness · 19/12/2020 14:33

I think what ever it is will only be for London and the South East!

Sockmonster23 · 19/12/2020 14:33

yPotion

The guidance only minimises risk that’s all . It can never protect you 100%.

My neice was working in a covid safe office. This week 50 % went down with covid and she took it home . Now whole family have it.

Try and look in the bright side at least it’s not flu and any other viruses that so many have come down with in school and workplaces for decades and at least there is a good chance they will survive over 95% i believe. Be thankful. COVID safe LOL

Wrecktal · 19/12/2020 14:34

I don’t think it’s fair to call him a bunglecunt. I don’t think a different leader would have stopped this mess, and I can’t see another country in Europe who are tackling this successfully. We are at the mercy of a situation that is changing on a daily basis.

Mulhollandmagoo · 19/12/2020 14:34

@Char2015 my main concern here if I'm honest 🤣

SophieB100 · 19/12/2020 14:34

The three finalists in new BBC show: Strictly No Mixing
are Boris Johnson, Chris Whitty and Patrick Valance.

And the winner is ... Boris!! And here is Claudia with his prize, a pair of dangly earrings fashioned out of his glitterballs.

bettxmascake · 19/12/2020 14:35

Just what I was thinking. You know the keyworkers not just everyone else. Doctors, nurses, supermarket cashiers, etc

Maybe they will ask to see your pass at the ticket barrier?

namesnamesnamesnames · 19/12/2020 14:36

Oh ffs, they bloody announce these then leave the country waiting in an anxious state.

chocolatesaltyxmaspudballs · 19/12/2020 14:36

You're joking, right? The government have fucked up over and over. It's beyond a joke.
Babyroobs · 19/12/2020 14:36

@tootyfruitypickle

He’s got to cancel the bubble idea. It’s madness.
Totally agree with this.
SantasBritchesSpelleas · 19/12/2020 14:36

I don’t think it’s fair to call him a bunglecunt.

I agree. It's unfair to bunglecunts.

HeyBaby2020 · 19/12/2020 14:37

Bye bye boris! Get fucked

midscram · 19/12/2020 14:37

I can see them enforcing a travel ban perhaps it will be a reduction or going into lockdown sooner than Jan.

Wrecktal · 19/12/2020 14:37

@chocolatesaltyxmaspudballs but who has got it right? We were upholding Sweden a few months ago - and now look at them!

SofiaMichelle · 19/12/2020 14:37

@BringPizza Glad I'm not the only one who was pissed off at this. When Andy Burnham was stamping his feet demanding more support he was pretty much told to shut up and go away, there is no money in the pot, there's a pandemic on. London gets closed down and all those little businesses need support, you know... hmm

I'm absolutely with you on this!

In our area we've had approximately 4 weeks since March when we haven't been under the most severe restrictions.

We've watched the news, seeing some in the south/London behaving like it was NYE every night through the summer, big non-household groups in bars and restaurants, etc. while we've been unable to do anything but go for a bloody walk.

But now, because twatting London is affected, it's back-to-back news about how bad it is for people there and moaning about businesses.

We've been thrown under the bus up here for the best part of a bloody year, businesses going bust left, right and centre, and no one has given a shiny shit!

HeyBaby2020 · 19/12/2020 14:37

London and will not be following any rules from you - fuck the government fuck boris

nosswith · 19/12/2020 14:38

Sadly we would as a country have been better off if Boris Johnson had died of the virus, not that I want or wanted anyone to die from it.

FlappingPancakes · 19/12/2020 14:39

One day we will have a government who doesn't leak stuff to the journalists before they tell us, the majority of the people who actually bloody vote for them

Lardlizard · 19/12/2020 14:39

Is Christmas cancelled ? It must be

@nosswith that’s an utterly horrible thing to say! So what is the answer? What should we be doing?

Unsure33 · 19/12/2020 14:40

@Wrecktal

I agree with you .

Keyboard warriors who know better than WHO and all other European leaders . Sweden today admitted they were wrong .Italy and france are really struggling.

donquixotedelamancha · 19/12/2020 14:40

The problem with Boris is that he wants too much to be liked.

.....and that he lies by default, thinking he can get away with utterly silly statements because even when he's been caught in the past the consequences have been minimal.

...and that his Dad and his contacts have got him out of every bit of trouble he's ever been in and landed him senior jobs so he has no clue about the lives of most people or ability to learn from failure.

...and that he's utterly self serving: willing to arrange to have people assaulted (literally), stabbing even close allies in the back (metaphorically), cheating in every relationship he's had, being an absent father or even just denying children are his.

...and that he is lazy, famously refusing to do detailed preparation for anything, making mistakes which kept a British woman unjustly imprisoned and never attending Covid meetings in the early days of the pandemic.

....and that he constantly changes his mind, susceptible to the last argument he hears or the most forceful person in the room, lacking any firm principles.

...and that he's racist, using pejoratives about anyone he sees as different (watermelon smiles, walking pillar boxes) which would make Nigel Farage blush, repeatedly offending foreign countries while employed as out chief diplomat, having to be told to stop reciting racist poetry about his hosts while on camera.

...and that he's a poor communicator, waffling on when factual information is needed, bluffing to cover what hasn't being thought through and having no grasp of the details of whatever he tries to explain.
