Do we know how easy, east is?

I'm East Midlands and tier 3 so wondering if we'll be caught up in tier 4 or not???

justanotherneighinparadise · 19/12/2020 16:28

I don’t think it was ‘very clear’ at all as to who is moving into tier 4.

blackbearder · 19/12/2020 16:28

Took Chris whitty to apologise to Sheila.

midscram · 19/12/2020 16:28

He's sorry but if he'd done something sooner in feb this shit wouldn't be happening.

What should he have done in Feb and when in Feb?

bettxmascake · 19/12/2020 16:28

@CurlyhairedAssassin

Oh for fuck's sake. This is EXACTLY why it's spread, as people don't seem to understand virus transmission. A bloody BUFFET??? For 16 people?

The whole thing of "just because you CAN mix over Christmas doesn't mean you SHOULD" applies to people exactly like you. It should have been spelled out to people that don't seem to think that plans for a buffet was a terrible idea.

A buffet ?! All those people touching the same plates of food and breathing over it, no thanks !
cologne4711 · 19/12/2020 16:28

Only mixing on Christmas Day seems a bit ridiculous. So if you live close to relatives you can see them but if you don't you can't? I don't think the virus knows or cares how close you live to people.

Can we have a definition of "south east" please Boris?

AaronPurr · 19/12/2020 16:28

@SufferingFromLongLockdown

How can they get legislation in place in time for our to come into effect tomorrow morning?

When they cancelled Eid for many families they didn't actually wrote legislation that came into effect until a few days later.

Good question. It's not possible is it?

They can only advise and encourage people.

MamaBearThius · 19/12/2020 16:28

@FatGirlShrinking me too!

Lurkingforawhile · 19/12/2020 16:29

We were in tier two yesterday, now in tier four tomorrow. So gutted. Our rates are around the national average so it's a bit of a shock. Doesn't change our Xmas plans but going to miss swimming etc

notangelinajolie · 19/12/2020 16:29

@GameSetMatch

Oh gosh, I know it should be the least of my worries but I’ve got buffet food for 16 Being delivered for Boxing Day! What am I going to do with all that fresh food now?
Buffet for 16? I'm hoping this is a wind up Confused
CrunchyCarrot · 19/12/2020 16:29

Sadly that seems to be the case.

BethlehemIsInTier1 · 19/12/2020 16:29

@CatholicKidston that's usual for most hospitals all year around before Covid, I was treating patients in the back of Ambulances going back as long as I can rememberer.

SailorKerry · 19/12/2020 16:29

They just showed a map. It's the SE Tier 3 where the virus is on the up.

He thinks it's clear because he mentioned London, and nothing else matters Xmas Hmm
Janedownourlane · 19/12/2020 16:30

Think in the North East we are still Tier 3. He didnt mention the North specifically at all.

Florelei · 19/12/2020 16:31

Boris said the east of England tier 3 areas will be i tier 4. We really need some clarity as to whether this includes the NE.

chomalungma · 19/12/2020 16:31

Alas!!

BarbaraofSeville · 19/12/2020 16:31

Best look on gov.uk for exact rules. You can't rely on what the pm says, he doesn't even know when new year's Eve is.

IrmaFayLear · 19/12/2020 16:31

Who would want to go to a buffet for 16?! All using the same loo, jostling in a stuffy room...

These are not normal times and I just can’t fathom pretending that everything is just the same as any other year.

Unsure33 · 19/12/2020 16:31

So I don’t see bumble

I see it’s changed

New information

We have to act

DragonflyInn · 19/12/2020 16:31
@perditaplum you are right, you can’t see her Boxing Day
Surely they can, as said they’re tier 1 - and tier 1 you are allowed people in your house aren’t you?

BonnieDundee · 19/12/2020 16:31

So a buffet for 16 people will spread it but schools full of children won't? Patients in hospitals wont spread.it? Patients being discharged to care homes dont spread it.but heaven forbid that somebody have a buffet for.boxing day.

justanotherneighinparadise · 19/12/2020 16:32

I doubt gov.uk will have updated.

lovelemoncurd · 19/12/2020 16:32

Build a wall keep the Southerners out with their dodgy variant 🤣

Quads4x4 · 19/12/2020 16:32

Buffet for 16 was fine when they said 3 households can mix.
