I had my first symptoms 7th December... test was on Saturday pos result Sunday.
My sons test was Sunday results Monday.
My other children's isolations last day is tomorrow, my son really wants to go to school for his christmas disco last day.
Can someone just confirm this is allowed?
Track an trace have told me he's fine to return if no symptoms as the first person in the household (me) started with it on the 7th so isolation does not need to start again.
I messaged his teacher an she wasn't sure. So now I'm doubting myself 🤦🏻‍♀️
Thanks in advance.

When did your son's symptoms start? Assuming he was positive.

mooncakes · 16/12/2020 22:22

You and your son who were positive are each isolating for 10 days from each of your first symptoms.

Your other children (if no symptoms/positive result themselves) are 14 days from your first symptoms.

Your other children (if no symptoms/positive result themselves) are 14 days from your first symptoms.

The other children are 10 days as well since op symptoms

“ self-isolate for 10 days from when you were last in contact with the person who tested positive for coronavirus”

Ds1 positive test Sunday
Ds2 negative test no symptoms track an trace said his isolation ends tomorrow as it's 10 days since my first symptom, is this correct?
Obvs Ds1 will isolate until 23rd December as positive result was 13th December

Yes that’s correct

The first person in the house to get it triggers the isolation. So in my case it was my son. He had to isolate for 10 days. I then caught it within those 10 days so I, my DP and other DS started a new 10 day isolation.
My son that tested positive finishes isolation tomorrow. The rest of us finish on Sunday.
If DP or other DS were to contract it before Sunday only they would start isolating again.
If they caught it after we finish isolating we ALL isolate again.

Hope that makes sense.

Sorry to come back again but just had track an trace on the phone saying I'm to isolate until 23rd!
Iv told her I was tested positive at the weekend and when first symptoms started but she was adamant it was 23rd as my son tested positive 13th... I'm now really confused as iv been told numerous times by track an trace mine ended yesterday and my children who haven't caught it ends today 17th 10 days after I started with symptoms on the 7th!
🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Too add
The lady then wasn't aware I was positive until I said honestly I understand they're busy but the system is so flawed!
