Coughing DD12 wwyd?

DD12 started coughing Saturday, no fever, but we all had covid tests Sunday morning to be safe, tests came back Monday morning all negative. Decided to keep DD off school as she has a history of coughs getting worse and lasting weeks and didn’t want to risk her catching covid.
She’s still coughing, totally fed up at home and wants to go back to school tomorrow (yr7). She’s been home since having the test Sunday morning.
Thoughts? Thanks

she doesnt have covid so and is feeling better so send her back

I wouldn't send her coughing, no, sorry.
Even if it's not covid, just a cough, she spreads it, other families then have to get tests as they have a cough.

When does she break up for Xmas? If it’s tomorrow I wouldn’t send her, if it’s Friday or next week I probably would as long as it was just a cough.

I would get her tested again. There have been a lot of reports of false negatives - this seems especially true if you have a self administered test as opposed to a healthcare professional doing it for you. Apparently, sometimes people are not putting the swab far enough up/down their nose and throat (which is understandable really as it’s really hard to do on yourself). Not saying this is the case for you op but just a thought
