I have tested positive for covid (test was Sunday) so am isolating for ten days from Sunday. Partner obviously isolating with me but is now experiencing some of the same symptoms as me. If he gets a test he will have to isolate for ten days from when his symptoms began but is my isolation period still ten days from my positive test?

I’ve seen conflicting things about this and just wanted an easy straight answer.

Your isolation period will not extend past the original 10 days if he gets a positive test. He now has to do his own 10 day isolation

@dementedpixie thank you! It helps with planning that at least one of us can go out after ten days for Christmas supplies (although the first day I’m allowed out is Christmas Eve which makes me think our dinner may be pretty random this year!)
