Tier review announcement

If the tier review is being done today why is there no announcement?
We were told it would be reviewed on the 16th to come into force on the 19th. If they don't announce it till tomorrow people moving from tier 3 to 2 in hospitality will only have one day to get staff informed, stock delivered, everything brought up to standard etc.
It isn't enough time.

Hospitality wise the staff are all prepared to go, they know the announcement is coming and some companies have put on training ect, deliverys on the other hand could get tricky, not sure hotel guests would be happy with tinned food!
My work is in a tier 3 and I'm not looking forward to going back tbh, too much has changed (not covid related) and I'll be working with hundreds of guests all over Christmas mingling with each other and no doubt breaking the rules as they have been doing constantly when we were open. Mixing of households, face mask wearing and keeping even a minimal distance!

Our council have said it’s decided today, the council expect to hear late tonight but tell us tomorrow; and it’ll come into play from 00:01 on the 18th.

They’re announcing something mid afternoon, presumably it’s tiers.

Nousernameforme · 16/12/2020 13:55

Aye I've just seen that hopefully it is

BenidormLife · 16/12/2020 14:18

Does any one know what time

Henlie · 16/12/2020 14:33

There’s a press conference at 15:30......but not sure if this is about the tiers or Christmas? Maybe both 😐

It was enough time to do this for London.

I suspect any changes will leak before tomorrow.

RedToothBrush · 16/12/2020 14:43

And when they made the last t3 to t2 downgrade they gave the same amount of time.

Places were open.

RedRiverShore · 16/12/2020 14:46

Our local paper says that phone call about tiers comes either late tonight or early tomorrow so might be in local paper tomorrow morning. I suspect today's press conference is about Christmas

CoffeeCreamandSugar · 16/12/2020 14:56

I’m so fed up with waiting for the bloody government. If they’ve decided it today then why on Earth do we have to wait till tomorrow? Grr.

tootyfruitypickle · 16/12/2020 15:04

Or it could be to do with schools in south east. They’re not staying open in anything but name down here !
