Should we isolate?

One of my sons best friends mom has just received a positive result. The child was in school on Monday but isolated yesterday. The child has not been tested because she has no symptoms. As we know though not everyone especially children show symptoms.

Should we now be isolating because my son was in close contact with this child? (Not sure if school will react because the child hasn't been tested)

No you shouldn't. Even if your DS had to isolate because his friend had covid, none of the rest of you would have to. Might be worth just being extra careful about distancing hand washing etc, and keep an eye out for any symptoms, but otherwise carry on as normal.

No you shouldn't. Whether the child was sent in when she should have been isolating pending test results is a question I'd have though.
