And if so when will we know any changes?

The reason northern areas aren't moving down is because we don't have the NHS capacity they do in London and the south. So basically because of years of austerity and under investment.

Thanks for map, RedToothBrush

middleager · 17/12/2020 13:12

The map's really helpful, Red. There are parts of Birmingham that, in the 150-180 mark are also lower than what some parts of London were in Tier 2. Lower than neighbouring Bromsgrove too, which remains in a 2. If it were numbers alone then we might not be 3 but bringing in other risk factors, we remain locked in Sad

Coronavirus: Northern Ireland health officials to propose six week lockdown

So thats NI and Wales. Scotland have refused to rule it out. Many countries in Europe are doing one.

It seems hard to rule out a third lockdown in England...

southeastdweller · 17/12/2020 14:41

Sunak has just announced another extension to the furlough scheme, to April, so lockdown 3.0 here we come.

StealthPolarBear · 17/12/2020 17:18

Yep. Tbh not much will change from tier 3 surely.

I can’t even remember what’s the difference between tier 3 and lockdown. Non essential shops shut/ hairdressers etc?

JayAlfredPrufrock · 17/12/2020 17:32

Not surprised we are still T3 in Oldham. It’s hospital capacity apparently.
