And if so when will we know any changes?

Looks lime we are staying in tier three. We already had posts from local mp and pubs. When is this going to end we have had months of this in the north west and I feel it’s going to be worse before it gets better Sad

TicTacTwo · 15/12/2020 22:18

@Rollergirl11

Do you think there will be other areas moving from Tier 2 to 3 or would that have been done yesterday along with London and Essex?
I think Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Luton and Northampton will move into Tier 3.
LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 15/12/2020 22:21

@RedRiverShore yeah definitely think Bedfordshire will. Cases weren't to bad a week or so ago for Central Beds now they've shot up. Luton have always been high but now high high

PotteringAlong · 15/12/2020 22:24

@DreamingofaShiteChristmas we’re 93 per 100,000 and currently in tier 3 so if they don’t move us down to tier 2 I imagine you might go up.

StealthPolarBear · 15/12/2020 22:54

@Talisin

I believe they review tomorrow, announce on Thursday and any changes then come into effect on Saturday.
Thank you. So press conference on Thursday as usual with announcement. Our rates are dropping I think. Still no chance we'll be anything other than tier three.

Pottering I'm in the North East as well. I honestly think we're just in tier three for the foreseeable future.

I’m NE and praying for tier two but I really can’t see anywhere getting downgraded atm with all of current panic about a new wave post Xmas rules. Gutted for all the hospitality workers at their busiest time of year.

Smarshian · 15/12/2020 23:02

I would expect nowhere to go down a tier until after Christmas (mid Jan) at the earliest and even that is highly unlikely as 3rd wave will be likely to come then.

RedToothBrush · 15/12/2020 23:04

Yes. And when they get around to leaking the details telling us depending on how long the meeting takes.

If its a similar time to the last one, I would imagine around 10.30 - 11.30 at the earliest.

Personally i am not anticipating many (if any) changes so i dont imagine it rolling into Thursday for us to know.

Dorset maybe for T1. Parts of Manchester (Trafford, Stockport and i would say Tameside but ive heard tonight they dont want to exit T3 yet) to T2 perhaps....

CoffeeCreamandSugar · 15/12/2020 23:23

I hope they do leak it tomorrow. I just want to know.

CoffeeCreamandSugar · 15/12/2020 23:23

Northamptonshire here too

RedRiverShore · 16/12/2020 06:41

@CoffeeCreamandSugar

Northamptonshire here too
It might be in the Northampton chronicle and Northants ET as they tell the council/MPs first. I reckon it will be the whole of Northamptonshire especially if Beds and MK go up as well, I doubt they will leave an odd bit in tier 2, we are 148 here but it has gone up
StillDumDeDumming · 16/12/2020 06:57

Yep we're Northamptonshire too. A week ago we had the exact same figures as Greenwich per 100k (for positive cases - I don't know about admissions or the age range of cases and I know that's relevant to tiers) - I think Greenwich was rocketing whereas we are still rising but not as fast. Might scrape thru staying in tier 2? But yes I'm expecting tier 3. Watching it as it affects my work this weekend!

Icanseeclearlynow12 · 16/12/2020 06:58

Central Beds here. I would be very surprised if we don't move up to tier 3.

cathyandclare · 16/12/2020 06:58

We're on the borders between west and north Yorks with low rates but under Tier 3 as technically Leeds.

Leeds has dropped loads to 137 now, I was hoping to go to Tier 2 but sounds like we'll be stuck where we are. Frustrating.

RedToothBrush · 16/12/2020 08:04

Btw I've been tracking the figures in the north. They had kept going down after the November lockdown. And then started to stall. The figures are up to the 10th and they now seem to have bottomed out and may be starting to rise again.

Even in some T3 areas.

im not sure, that when the most recent figures for the past week are published, they will make for great reading for anyone still in T3 with hopes of escaping

They’ve shit all over moving down to tier 3 despite the council pushing for it 😞

Last time he announced the T3 areas to the commons a few hours earlier than the press conference. The gov.uk website crashed because everyone tried to check their area but iirc just after lunchtime last time?

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 16/12/2020 11:56

@PrincessNutNuts

If your area gets downgraded people from nearby higher tiers just bring the Covid to you via pubs and shops and visiting.

" Portsmouth, Gosport & Southampton Isle of Wight Ferry Syndrome"

It's better for reducing spread of we're all under the same rules.

What?

Ive not heard of this, what does it mean?

Thanks 🙂

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 16/12/2020 11:57

Oooh

Do you mean people from pompey southampton and gosport going to the isle of wight?

RedToothBrush · 16/12/2020 12:15

Paul Waugh @paulwaugh
BorisJohnson praise for ppl of GManchester and Yorks and NEast felt like to me a strong hint they may come out of Tier 3 tmrw #pmqs

Interesting...

Also apparently the announcement is due tommorrow around 10.30pm (but I fully expect a full leak around 10pm tonight).

RedToothBrush · 16/12/2020 12:55

Good news Wales...

BBC Wales News @ bbcwalesnews
BREAKING: Wales to go back into lockdown from 28 December

Non-essential shops and restaurants will not be able to reopen after Christmas

PrincessNutNuts · 16/12/2020 13:01

@RufustheSniggeringReindeer

Yes. The Isle of Wight was Tier 1 so they got a massive influx of visitors from nearby Tier 2 places.
RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 16/12/2020 13:04

Thanks princess

Im a bit slow today (every day)

My children have never been to the Isle of Wight they are 22, 19 and 17

If i walk 5 minutes up the road i can see it ...I’m so ashamed 😩

Have said that at least I can’t be held responsible for passing ANYTHING to the island 🤔

Kazmerelda · 16/12/2020 13:05

Anyone else think they are just going to slap tier 3 everywhere and be done with it versus a total lockdown again?
