Symptom, itchiness

Hi all

I wonder if anyone who’s had a positive Covid test has presented with very itchy skin? No rash particularly that I can see, just itching like hell.

I have several other symptoms and have ordered a test and am isolating. Just wanted to see if anybody else had had this as it’s not a symptom I was aware to look out for.

Ive just come back positive.
Mine started with a week of achey body then a slight cough and headache. Then itchy burning skin now i have a rash. I feel like its gonna appear everywhere cause i am itching that much xx

Psositive just before Christmas and had the most horrendous itchy skin since. To the point that I have made my skin bleed with the scratching! P

Ooo gosh! I am glad your over it safe! The itch is driving me nuts! Im 17 weeks pregnant! Just got over being sick everyday now this ! I give up lol x

Just a note - speaking as someone who has histamine intolerance, itchy skin is sometimes one's immune system reacting, so that may be what's happening in your case with Covid. An anti-histamine may calm it down, if it's driving you mad.

@CrunchyCarrot i need to ring my GP today and ask which ones i can take. Because i am pregnant and online it says i have to hve certain ones x

I seem to remember getting very itchy in pregnancy and it being hives. Definitely worth checking with your GP

I've got really itchy skin too. I had a rash a couple weeks before Xmas. I get tested weekly but that week several tests went missing from where I work!! But ever since I have had this all over body itchiness.

Could be OC if you are pregnant. Worth a chat with your midwife at least.

@NisekoWhistler ive not had it before.
And my results are back positive which makes me think its because of that. Its stressing me right out x

Midwife said to me sounds like its to do with having the cocid virus x

I don't want to worry you but I know itchiness is something you definitely need to get checked out if pregnant.

@Starrr123 that's exactly what mine is like. All down my back, arms, stomach and legs. Driving me insane. Taking antihistamines like they are going out of fashion

@hettyhooverdoover he said its part of it. He said alot of ptients have the same. It should start to ease and he has prescribed me some antihistamines .
He said if anything gets worse to ring them straught away :) xx

@Whattodoffs ok makes me feel better that its the same. Cause i am itching it so bad i think i am making it swollen! How many can you take a day ? X

It came out over a few days, definitely not all in one go

@Whattodoffs thankyou! Hope yours gets better! Today mine is feeling abit swollen and like skin colour. Like ive been stang by lots of nettles x
