I’m in London, which is going into Tier 3. My Mum lives about an hour outside London, in the country, and is in Tier 2. So I can’t go and visit her 21/22 December as planned, but I can go 22/24 December. Is that right? Sorry if I sound a bit dim but I live overseas usually and will have been self isolating before going to see her.

tier 2 can travel anywhere and everywhere whenever they want. its all advice. you can shop everyday in tier 3 if you fancy. its not illegal, you can even go abroad.

Yes, government website states this:

you can travel between tiers and UK nations for the purposes of meeting your Christmas bubble

You can also travel before and outside of the bubble time scale but can’t meet indoors then

So you can travel to tier 2 now for a meet outdoors or to go to a cafe outdoors

Regardless of what Mumsnet say
