My DCs closed today, along with most in our borough. Or rather, learning has been moved online.

I'm so sad for the kids. My eldest is on yr6 and was due back tomorrow following a burst bubble. The bubble only burst because a stupid parent didn't follow the rules and sent their child in whilst waiting for a test result. DD is really sad, just wanted to go back, see her friends, and have her final primary Xmas party Sad

I know why it's been done. But I'm gutted fir my kids right now.

No, my DD’s school hasn’t even sent anyone home or had any cases so far. Two parents have had it out of school and their DC have isolated, now both back at school.

Whole primary here shut, outbreak 11 teachers around (we think) 9 pupils across different year groups

I'm in London. Primary DH teaches in has only 2 year groups in - 3 year groups sent home on Friday, 2 more today, numerous positive tests amongst children and staff - including DH.

DCs primary school had every year group in today, but only because 4 year groups returned today - the reduction in isolation time had meant some could go back earlier than initially planned. DD has just had 2 weeks off (class next to her had 14 positive cases in children plus some positive staff), she's having to isolate again because of DH. DSs year group are the only year group not to go off.

The good thing about us having to isolate now is we shouldn't have to over Christmas, if kids were in school I'm sure one of them would end up having to isolate over Christmas

Not closed, and has remained open throughout since September. Thank God for that.

ThrowawaySecondarySchool · 14/12/2020 21:52

Closed since last Friday, until 4th January. Not enough staff.

Just outside london here. Very lucky - large secondary with one case all term. DD been in all term.

Ellieboolou33 · 14/12/2020 22:08

Primary still open and only one positive case since March so been very fortunate. Now gone into tier 3 though so glad this week is the last week!

PeachiceT · 14/12/2020 22:08

DC is currently home as the year group bubble burst , previously had a 11 day fire breaker where whole schol shut and also had a week isolation period, since Sept . We are in Essex

UncomfortableSilence · 14/12/2020 22:14

We're in the dreaded Havering and still open Confused

doubleshotespresso · 14/12/2020 23:16

Ours is closed from tomorrow but offering places to those without childcare which I thought was truly amazing whilst still giving stents a choice

PeachesandCream2020 · 14/12/2020 23:35

No, dd high school not closing until the 22nd December..

StrangeAddiction · 14/12/2020 23:54

Tier 3 area in the north east and last week Ds2 (year 6) was sent home for his second 14 day self isolation due to a case in their year group.

Year 7 were also sent home and as it's an all-through school I don't know if the year 6&7 cases were related. They broke up for Christmas last Friday so unless Ds2 has any symptoms it's looking like we'll be ok for now and can relax a bit.

Outer London borough. Son’s secondary school now into 3rd week of complete closure. First week due to staff shortages, second week added due to pupil COVID case and extended this week for the same reason.
