Horribly sore eyes - anyone else?!

I tested positive last Tuesday after cold like symptoms started on the Sunday before. I’ve had no main symptoms but I have had the seemingly very common bad headache, fatigue, runny nose.. but my god do my eyes hurt! It’s like someone is rubbing salt into a wound, they hurt like mad! It’s not dissimilar to when my heyfever is really bad & I can barely open them but they’ve aren’t red or anything though - my right eye is also twitching constantly as it sometimes does when I’m really tired.

Has anyone else had this? Seems like such a strange symptom!

This was my only symptom of covid earlier in the year, literally nothing else. Felt like I had sand in my eyes. Work in healthcare and several colleagues also had it along with the usual cough and temperature.

My eyes ache and I have light sensitivity but not painful like sand in them.

The painful eyes was how I knew I had Covid and what made me get tested.

Aww you poor thing - that's rough. I had this too, also whites of my eyes turned red which wasn't a good look 😬. Apparently can happen with some viruses. Get well soon!
