Lateral flow tests

My DP (frontline NHS) has just tested positive on a lateral flow test. None of us are showing any symptoms at the moment.

He's gone to get an official test today. Hopefully the results will arrive tomorrow. So my question is, will our 10 day isolation start from today or from the day he gets his results? Obviously we're not going anywhere today. I was thinking more of whether we'll be released in time for Christmas (assuming we remain asymptomatic)

It would be from the first positive test I would imagine I.e the one he took already

From the day of the lateral flow test result.

Thanks everyone. Just need to keep everything crossed that we don't develop symptoms!

I had a faint positive on Friday morning and a strong positive this morning. I had a proper test delivered on Saturday evening and sent it off yesterday so I'm waiting for the result. My manager said to isolate from the day of the faint positive.

I'm interested to see if the swab test is positive although I do have symptoms, they are more like a heavy cold no loss of smell or taste.
