Work related restaurant meet is it legal?

A client has asked us to meet at a midway point to discuss a proposal at a restaurant. There will be 4 of us (2 from my side, 2 from theirs)

Now I’m panicking because I’ve said yes but actually is this legal?

Thanks!

I believe so. It was a couple of weeks ago.

I don't think Tiers make any difference either.

I'll go & see what I can find.

Depends where you are? Would be legal in Wales.

It's a business meeting so I think it's legal.

Yes, it’s fine for work meetings but even if it wasn’t it wouldn’t be illegal, just against the guidelines.

Found this, it's for T2 in England

Yes, businesses can take a booking for a work meeting as there is an exemption to allow individuals to gather indoors for work purposes for up to 30 people, including at hospitality venues, however businesses would be expected to take reasonable steps to ensure the meeting is genuinely for work purposes and is not a social gathering of work colleagues
