Success applying for discretionary isolation payment?

Hey guys

Has anyone had any success when applying for the discretionary isolation payment (not the benefit one) from their local council?

DH needed to isolate for the 2 weeks after I tested positive. Because of his work putting him on SSP he's lost to the tune of £588 this month (not incl overtime) and split over two paydays due to payroll cut off dates. I only work part time and my wages just about cover my portion of the bills.

We have applied for the discretionary isolation payment which to be perfectly honest was a complete and utter ball ache. Its as if they don't want people bothering 🤔

I'm pretty sure that they are going to say we earn too much to qualify (by government standards) but irrespective of Christmas we are going to be just able to pay our rent, council tax and utlities this month, but that's it. No petrol to actually get to work and no food shopping. I've got 2 DD's to provide for. Luckily all their Christmas presents were done before all this.

Has anyone working and not in receipt of any benefit been successful in applying? Don't need to know your exact situation, but just a feeler!
