Carrying on from the old Ocado thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/a4045676-Ocado-tips-hacks-Toblerone-and-Christmas?msgid=102560793#102560793

I have been contributing, just changed my name to prevent being outed over something!

I picture Fuss with steam coming out of her ears right now.

Exactly right Grin

Ice Cream is my one downfall I'm afraid. I'm not a big chocolate eater, or crisps and nuts etc, but I do love a bit of ice cream of an evening.
I've made this outstanding concoction of Percy Pig ice cream sauce, Mackies cornish ice cream, squirt cream and a mashed up meringue nest. Sort of a Percy Pavlova if you will. It's so sweet it sets your teeth on edge. A rare treat but a rather fabulous one.

I've also had the email. Trying to pad out in many words why they can no longer keep offering vouchers because they are so much more expensive. An elderly aunt asked me to get her something earlier, it's 25p more expensive in Ocado than Tesco. I daren't compare the rest of my shop or I think I'd be compelled to say fuck it and go to the store.

Fuss huge apologies.

I got it for DC but they didn’t like it.

Quarantino · 28/01/2021 14:19

I'm gearing up to break the habit and try and get a Sainsburys slot one week instead of Ocado. Even a click and collect! I'll enjoy the outing!

They are forgiven Grin

I do have a bit of a Percy thing going on to be fair. I bought the little ceramic pot plants at Christmas, I have biscuit tins etc. I've even got Percy face masks.
I think DH worries....

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/01/2021 16:30

I love PP too. But not the ice cream. Have you seen the new PP fleece blanket?

Madcats · 28/01/2021 16:57

Where have all the special offers gone? My monthly boring shop of loo roll, detergents and store cupboard stuff seems to be ££.

I was offered quite a few slots, but am sorely tempted to walk round to Waitrose (which is now delightfully empty of family groups blocking the aisles while they chat) with my "old lady" shopping trolley.

I have! I'm currently debating the towels for the downstairs loo as well... I'd desperately love a duvet but annoyingly it doesn't seem to come in King.
DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/01/2021 18:31

Fuss I like the towels. The reviews say they are quite small.

PowerslidePanda · 28/01/2021 20:12

Some interesting wording around the replacement for the low price promise...

For these products, when the price is set, we aim to match or beat the regular price of equivalent products in at least one other major supermarket

So the price could actually be higher than nearly all others - just so long as there's still one which is more expensive than Ocado? And what do they mean they "aim" to match? Surely you either match it or you don't?

Peaseblossom22 · 28/01/2021 20:52

I think I am rapidly losing patience now , I have been with Ocado for years but the stick issues on basics are ridiculous now . Either the own brand or basic levels are out of stock or they just don’t exist anymore .

Am wondering about a click and collect slot with Waitrose but mostly so just feel sad amd cheesed off that all my lists etc are useless

That's why I thought they would make good hand towels for the loo, just need to persuade dh it's a good idea hehe
Didkdt · 29/01/2021 02:25

I miss shopping I’m using Ocado begrudgingly as I’m shielding but I feel no warmth for them the few times I’ve had a Waitrose slot I’ve felt they care at my local branch, I just find Waitrose customer service centrally difficult I’ve asked 3 times now to filll in the shielding form still waiting

Furball · 29/01/2021 08:48

No pork joint or cauliflower for me this week - thats 3 days of meals missing - as we had roast/bubble & squeak/Sandwiches. - so not great. Luckily I've got some mince in the freezer so can rustle up a cottage pie. But still

shallwethree · 29/01/2021 11:05

Yay, my anniversary voucher has finally landed - thanks to @PowerslidePanda and @Quarantino I wasn't panicking (much).

Got mine as well
DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/01/2021 12:06

I was missing a cauliflower last week. I usually make a curry with it, but couldn’t so we’ve missed a meal there. I hope I get one this week.

InescapableDeath · 29/01/2021 13:09

Only one (vaguely suitable) sub this week. It's rare for us to have major problems but I'm in north herts so fairly close to one of their warehouses and I wonder if that helps?

doireallyneedaname · 29/01/2021 13:28

I’ve never had an anniversary voucher - should I?

Quarantino · 29/01/2021 13:31

Second week in a row I've been given a loaf of bread with a 2-day use-by date. Again it's older than the one I bought in the corner shop on Sunday. No room in the freezer either!

bruffin · 29/01/2021 13:36

doireallyneedaname

Its listed as one of the benefits of smartpass, although i note it says "sometimes" now, but every year i have had a £10 anniversary voucher to spend on chocolate and wine

smartpass benefits

Dont hold your breath. My cauliflower turned up last week - well within date, outer leaves rank, cut those out to find the smallest cauliflower I have ever seen. It was literally 3 inches diameter. I sent customer services a comparison photo to the small knife I had used. I didnt even put a comment - fastest refund ever. So no cauliflower cheese for us last weekend :(
StanfordPines · 29/01/2021 15:32

I usually get a cauliflower and often find them on the small side but the least two have been enormous!

wendz86 · 29/01/2021 15:34

Has anyone else not been charged for their smart pass recently ? I haven’t been charged in about 3 months ? Got a voucher through for my anniversary today though .

DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/01/2021 16:06

I had a small cauli a few weeks ago. Tennis ball sized. I wonder if there’s a cauliflower problem?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/01/2021 17:34

Maybe there is a cauliflower issue. I got one today, but instead of the bog standard Ocado one I ordered I got an organic one. Decided to accept it and am just hoping it wasn't massively dearer.

I wish they did romanesco. I love it but they only stock Natoora ones now which are tiny and extortionately expensive. I used to get the Waitrose ones occasionally.
