How long do I isolate for? T&T haven't called.

The background.

Dh was feeling unwell Sunday and Monday. None of the covid symptoms, just a little tired and sniffly. He attended work on Monday. A couple of colleagues were off due to feeling unwell at the weekend. That evening he was notified that a colleague was testing due to symptoms. By Tuesday AM he was sent home from work as colleague tested positive. Over the course of the morning, a further 6 colleagues were sent positive results.

Due to the combination of colleagues rates of positive and his own feeling unwell (still no official covid symptoms), he tested. Results came back Wednesday morning. Positive.

We (dh and I, 2x dc school age) have isolated since he went for the test on Tuesday.

He has not been contacted by T&T. This means as a contact, neither have I. He has the app which has got him counting down to Thursday (17th) evening. Does this mean thats his 10th day and we should then isolate 4 more days (Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon)?

Or do T&T change the dates if they establish that the unwell feeling he had IN Sunday was covid?

And now the times to SI as a contact are reduced do I also just stay in til Thursday?

I really wish they had called us!

I would count isolation from the day he took the test with the day of the test as day 1. Thursday would be day 10. When does the change to isolation rules come into force?

They may call yet!

I've no idea what the official T&T assessment would be, but personally I think the safest option is to isolate for 10 days from the date of his test.
You can't be certain that his sniffly tired feeling at the weekend wasn't something else.

The change to isolation rules comes into force in Monday and applies to contacts already isolating.

"And it means anyone who has been self-isolating for 10 days or more will be able to end their quarantine on Monday."

14th. So if I take day1 as Tuesday 8th, day 10 would be Thursday 17th, with DH allowed out the next day. So on Mon 14th the rules would change and we would then end ours on Thursday too?

And is it Thursday is the last day to stay in / allowed out Friday? Or is it allowed out Thursday?

I would say isolate on Thursday and allowed out on Friday

Ok. That's a good update- we can enjoy the weekend out on a walk. Wonder if its worth sending the dc back for one day.
