I'm not talking about those who are concerned the vaccination hasn't been around long enough, what do the conspiracy theorists think will happen if people have the vaccine?

I don't think I have the same view as you about the significance of the unknowns.

It's really not as simple as saying that because some areas are still unknown, it must be rushed/concerning/etc. For I really do not think that.

It has been properly tested, and the benefits are definitely worthwhile.

Nothing in biology is 100%, ever, and only fools say it is, or demand that it be so

90%-80% of certainty (in relation to all these aspects, I don't mean efficacy) I would perhaps find acceptable. This looks to me closer to the 50% mark

trulydelicious · 17/12/2020 10:03

@scaevola

And I do hope at some point in the future we get more certainties around these novel vaccines (and if news is not good better products are developed)

Three "reasons" just shown on the BBC, were that we don't need it because we use natural remedies instead ie: ginger, garlic and honey...... we don't need it because God will protect us, and we don't need because, well it's got a chip in it, init......... Sigh.

Yes I saw that on the news. I found it odd that the 'chip bloke' didn't appear to want to show his face. I tend to take the view that if people don't want the vaccine, fine leave it for those of us who do.

I work in a small business where the owner is a prepper and conspiracy theorist. He has a group of fellow CT’s that have meetings and have clubbed together to buy medical supplies, cb radios, food (sacks of wheat, barley and rice). The other day they had a workshop about food vacuum sealing. I overhear a lot of their chat and most of the reasons pp’s have listed have been mentioned. They have also discussed chem trails, a nasa smoke screen and child abuse rings but the general (vague) air is that ‘something is not right’ & ‘there has to be more to this’.

The atmostphere is really getting me down to be honest and I’m not smart enough to argue or stand up to their condescending lecturing so I just shut up and try and zone it out. I hope it doesn’t last too much longer.

It doesn’t sit right with me that the pfiezer have been given protection against prosecution

@Wombatstew

Maybe try and find out where they're hiding their stash of goodies just in case Smile
@Aprilrainbow

Here's an idea for a conspiracy theory, how about the elites created Covid & the vaccines that prevent it in order to kill off the anti vaxers

The 'anti-vaxxers' (as you call them) will be at risk from the virus

The crazed vaccine militants will be risking new vaccines that have no long term data regarding side effects, duration of immunity, whether they prevent transmission, and so on
The 'anti-vaxxers' (as you call them) will be at risk from the virus.

Yes, that's the twist, don't you see?

TrufflyPig · 19/12/2020 11:35

The 'anti-vaxxers' (as you call them)

We can go with 'pro-disease' if that makes them feel better.

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

There was a very bonkers new poster on another thread who thinks vaccine are a ‘depopulation exercise’ - I think he thinks they will make people infertile.
Great idea starting with the over 80s then. It will be a long time before fertile people with no underlying conditions get the vaccine.
cathyandclare · 19/12/2020 11:43

There was lots on Twitter about this because someone in the Oxford team was talking about the vaccine's 'sterilising' ability. Of course he was talking about ability to sterilise the virus and prevent asymptomatic as well symptomatic infection. However, the clip was widely retweeted as the vaccine affecting fertility.

TrufflyPig · 19/12/2020 14:27

Just had my vaccine, so far not turned into a mutant! Needle was way too small to be a microchip 😂
