Yes, but only when their own precious children are the ones being affected, eh?

Itisasecret · 10/12/2020 17:44

It’s not like teachers have been saying this for months. Whilst people bang on about anecdata.

Talk about late to the party.

motherrunner · 10/12/2020 17:44

It’s a shame we had to wait until it affected London.

At my West Mids’ school we have had multiple full school closures. We are actually shutting this Friday as we have multiple cases across 4 year groups and it has been notes that students ARE passing it onto other students.

starrynight19 · 10/12/2020 17:45

But only those in London don’t forget Angry

The others must still be safe as Gav said.

noblegiraffe · 10/12/2020 17:47

It’s a shame we had to wait until it affected London.

Indeed, it's a scandal, those in the north should be bloody furious.

All those lies. Bet the media report on it now too.

We all knew this !! They have been gaslighting parents and teachers.
The spread happening when kids get on buses and trains at home time doesn’t bare thinking about.
But it’s good they are finally admitting that kids are the major carriers in London at least. They should test the kids in London, Manchester,
Leicester and everywhere else that has high spears. They need to do it now , before the kids hug their Grand Parents at Christmas !!! It’s urgent !!
Maybe this is why they are finally admitting it because the penny has dropped that Granny will catch it on Christmas Day.

lonelyplanet · 10/12/2020 17:47

Great plan to roll out testing next week. How many families will choose to have a test less than 14 days before Christmas?

ineedaholidaynow · 10/12/2020 17:48

Welsh secondary schools going online next week

noblegiraffe · 10/12/2020 17:48

Maybe this is why they are finally admitting it because the penny has dropped that Granny will catch it on Christmas Day.

Maybe because now they're worried that it might be their granny.

But now they've admitted that transmission in schools is an issue, there's no putting that genie back in the bottle.

Didn’t people want this?

I’m not in worst affected area so won’t get it but fine if we could.

NuttyinNotts · 10/12/2020 17:48

I am livid.

Where were the mass tests for pupils in Hull when 50% were off self isolating? Where are the mass tests for secondaries in other tier 3 areas that don't happen to be in the South East?

AnyoneseenGav · 10/12/2020 17:49

as Gav said

You called?? Gav spoke??

Noble you should rename yourself Cassandra.

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/12/2020 17:49

"worst affected areas in the southeast "

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 10/12/2020 17:50

When does it start though? And will it be every day??

noblegiraffe · 10/12/2020 17:50

I know, it's outrageous.

If they now say something like 'oh, London needs to go to rotas' I think that should signal a walkout.

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/12/2020 17:51

@MarshaBradyo yes it's a good idea but when you've been in an area that's been badly affected for months , with your kids constantly missing school, it's a bit of a bittersweet one.

Iwantacookie · 10/12/2020 17:51

Ffs this government is always playing catch up to what everyone else has known for ages.

Sad yes that is crap

Exactly, they are worried about their own parents catching it off their kids. Too close to home for them.
cantkeepawayforever · 10/12/2020 17:52

Honestly, I am SO angry.

Manchester? Leicester? Hull? Liverpool? Birmingham? Nothing to see here, move along...

London? HELP! Let's test the lot of them.....

The double standards are appalling.

You have to wait until something affects London for anybody to notice.
But - what use is the testing now, in the last week of term?
Where was the testing in September?

Ffs, shut the fucking schools!
